Graphics Design
As part of my assignment for Unit 35: Digital Graphics for Interactive Media I have created this company logo for my game design company:

For my logo I have chosen to use an eagle as the character in the graphic. This is because eagles are viscous and some features of the bird can surprise some people. I have chosen to write Xtreme Gaming with a series of random lines to make it look like it from a horror movie; I have drawn the eagle as if it was looking down on you. This makes it look serious. I have chosen to outline the eagle in red and the text in red as the colour red can be associated with blood.

This is an image splash art to represent the game I have chosen which is Gliese 581.
This shows the layer I have used to make this splash art image. This is will be used as a navigation/Splash button to be used on steam.

I have given the text a shadow to add depth and so that is standout from the rest of the graphic. I have chosen to do a dark blue background to show that the game has a dark theme to it. I have used an image is planet earth to show that humans have visited a foreign planet. I have drawn a bunch of aliens with weapons to show that both the humans and aliens are fighting. There is also a spaceship on the left hand side in the background this is to show that the alien planet has not accepted the visit of humans and that they have turned on their attacking systems on. I have put my logo in the right bottom of the screen to represent the game as well. I have put the characters of the game in white to keep of the appearance of the characters a secret. I have also drawn the title of the game and given it the colour lime green. I have done this because the colour lime green is stereotypical to aliens and I have drawn the title in a wiggly way. I have chosen the colour green as it stand out from the rest of the graphic which catches the eye. This is to give a spooky scene to the game. I have given a rough time date at the bottom of the splash art to hype up the people so that they are more interested in the game. I have put a space ship and the planet earth in the background. I have done this to give a scene that the two planets are fighting. I have chosen to use the blue landscape as it gives a dark tone to the graphic. This also relates to the theme of darkness and the theme of fighting.I have put the individual parts of the graphic in related folder in Photoshop. This makes it easier for me if I have to come back to work and edit it. I have exported this graphic as a JPEG. This is because it will be used on the internet and the memory size of the graphic need to be as low as possible. JPEG is also suitable for the graphic as it's not animated or it won't be printed. The resolution I have chosen to use was width: 550 and height: 400 in pixels
I have followed most of what I intended to do, but i didn't get  show one the characters. I have done most of what I intended to do in the graphic.

The process
I first started with a background and got pictures of mountains from the internet. I gathered the following images:

This is an image from a desert i have made it all blue and taken all the yellow away. I have given it a dark blue as it will be cover most of the background and the game has a dark theme to it. It will leave a dark impression to the viewer.

I then took this picture of a mountain. I made it all blue but a light blue to contrast from the first mountain. It's also light because it looks like it's further away.
I then found a sky that look like it was in a storm but it had a giant silver ball. I did't change any of the colors for the part of the background.
I then decided to put a picture of the earth in the place of the giant silver ball.
I then put a spaceship that i found from the internet and i changed the colour of it and making majority of the ship blue.
I then started to change to order of each layer so that the spaceship look like it was coming out of the left hand side. I also put the earth behind the first mountain.
Then i draw a figure of each letter of the title and filled it all in lime green. I then selected the rubber tool and used a tablet the start erasing some of the pixels from the title. I would erase part by part until I felt like it was good. I also did the same thing to the numbers in the title. I added a faded black glow to the title so that it would standout from the background.
I then added my logo in to represent the company making the game. I made the logo look like an eagle and did random straight line to make the letter of the logo. I then added a glow to the eagle but i didn't fade the glow as i wanted it to look sharp.
I then added text saying "coming soon summer 2015". I made the text lime green to keep it the same as the main title. I also gave the text a black faded glow so that it would stand out from the background.
I then added some of the characters that are in the game. I got this image from the internet and I have taken away some of the weapons they had and instead I added things like swords.

Tools
Here is a list of the tools I have used to create this graphics:
  • Magic wand tool
  • Pen tool
  • Text tool
  • Erase tool
  • Transform
  • Duplicate
Effects
These are the following effects I have used in my graphic
  • Inner shadow
  • Outer shadow

Unit 35: Digital Graphics for interactive media

My intentions:
When creating my graphic I intend to show some aspect of the game e.g. characters or setting. I want to put my logo on the bottom right corner. I also want to make an original font for the title of the game. I also want to make the title of the game catchy to the eye. I will also put a date for when I intend to release the game. I want to put at least one of the character that are in the game. I want to make the story clear from the beginning. I want to make the graphic look dark so that it give the scene of the evil and darkness. I only want to put inner and outer shadows on the graphic as too many effects on the graphic can ruin it.

The tools I intend to use:
  • Pen tool
  • Magic wand
  • Erase tool
  • Text tool
  • Duplicate
  • Transform

  • GTA V is the latest GTA in the market released 17th September 2013 but delayed the game was released late in the year so that people get exited enough about the game but close enough to Christmas so that people still exited about the game. GTA V is played from a third-person perspective in an open world environment, allowing the player to interact with the game world at their leisure. The game is set mainly within the fictional state of San Andreas (based on Southern California) and affords the player the ability to freely roam the world's countryside and the fictional city of Los Santos (based on Los Angeles). The single-player story is told through three player-controlled protagonists whom the player switches between, and it follows their efforts to plan and execute six large heists to accrue wealth for themselves. An online multiplayer mode is included with the game, allowing up to 16 players to engage in both co-operative and competitive gameplay in a re-creation of the single-player setting. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Theft_Auto_V)

    Singleplayer : 9/10

    Game Sound : 9.5/10

The sounds in the game are really realistic. When driving a car or any other vehicle you can hear the car revs getting higher and when the weather is raining gamers can hear the car splashing into the water. When characters talk the image is in calibration with the sound and the sound of every weather is realistic as if  it was real. the gun fire sounds are different depending which gun is fired and targets are hits the target makes a sound to as if the someone was hit in real life. When objects are hit they make the correct realistic sounds they should make, for example when metal is hit it sound like as if metal was hit in real life and when glass is hit it also sounds as of it was real. when gun shots are fired in hills and doesn't hit anything it doesn't make that echo sound that happens in real life.
    Controls : 10/10

The controls are really easy to use and pick really fast. In the in-game menu gamers can customize their controls so that they can feel more comfortable when play the game.

    Missions : 8/10

Missions in GTA V are really fun to do and there are many of them to do. gamers can take up to 2-3 week of gameplay to complete the story line. Mission difficulty can not be changed but some missions are harder than others. The missions make you go to places to improve the characters skills so that in missions characters have better piloting and shooting abilities. Missions make gamers explore to whole map.

    Enviroment : 8/10

Other people in the game are going to places rather than walking or driving around randomly. GTA V have had some pop in textures problems which was later on fixes with a patch Rockstar had released. The texture of the game is really good all the detail is very fine for example when a car is scratched the mark on the car will be in same place where is was hit also when a car is hit a hard object the damage of the car would depend on how fast you hit.

    Game UI : 9/10
Your stats may be checked in the main menu - How to finish GTA V on 100%? - Grand Theft Auto V - Game Guide and Walkthrough

The in-game menu is very simple to use. Gamers can use the bottom triggers to move through the menu (left or right). gamers can also see which character they are using and how much money the character has. the menu is every clear and easy to read.

    Multiplayer : /10

    Game Modes : 7/10

The Game modes available in GTA V are :

    • The Content Creator : The content Creator will launch with tool to tailor and publish your own deathmatches and Races.
    • Capture the Flag : GTA Online's Tak on the classix CTF mode.
    • Heists : This is a full-on cooperative heist missions that will require are full planning teamwork and sharp execution - along with the HPB (Heist Planning Board) for your apartment.

gtav voice actorsGTA Online can be easily accessed from the pause menu or by changing character at any point during gamplay, joining a game is also very easy as well. GTA Online has Client Hosted Servers this means that when your console is connected to the internet and is playing online you have data comes from a very powerful computer which runs the server.

    Graphics & Sound

The graphics from GTA V are truly amazing every corner in the game is very detail that it's really close to real life image. the garphics of the game. The sound in the game are just a realistic as the graphics, gun shots, cars, aircrafts, water effect all sound very realistic.

    Computers In WW2

In WW2 the germans were communicating with coded messages so that the enemies could not understand their next move. The germans were creating these codes with the enigma machine.

    How it Works
The enigma machine has a keyboard that the person would press and then another keyboard on top would light up. The germans would then have a coded message that could be sent and understood by other germans. They could change what letters would show up by changing the cogs inside the machine this was the messages would always come out different.

    Alan Turing
Alan Turing was a man who was trying to break the coded messages that the germans were sending. Turing wasn't the only one who was working to break the codes there were hundreds. the men would spend hours maybe days or months trying to break one code. Alan Turing wanted the break the codes faster so he built the first computer it was called the Bombe.
    File:Bombe-rebuild.jpg
The Bombe was used to break to codes faster. Instead of taking months to break codes it was taking days and then hours.
So how was it doing that?

The Code would be entered into the Bombe and then would of been processed into the code that could be read and understood. Once the code had been processed it would be stored in the memory storage. This meant that when the Bombe encountered the code again the Bombe would be able to break the code faster as it already knows what the code means (it does this by looking at similar patterns in the codes).
If the Bombe they were able to stop some attack that the germans were planning.

    Games and Platforms

    Graphics
Graphics can and cannot be the way forward in the gaming industry. Games like Fifa and Gran Tourismo are games that are always changing because they are games that you would like to make you feel that they are real because they include real-life people that play their football or drive their car around the track. people like to experience what it would like to be driving around a certain track like the Nurburgring Nordschleife and in Fifa people would like to control players as if they were real and the movement is realistic. sometimes it's not the way forward because games like Minecraft have always had the same graphics in the last couple of years and the reason why it's still a popular game is because the game is totally custom game from textures and adding things like tornado and waves on the sea all of these things are Mods (modifications) and the fact that is really simple.
